SuccessFactors
SAP SuccessFactors’ time-tested, analyst-recommended solutions drive goal execution across your business from top-to-bottom like no other alternative. By focusing on the three pillars of Business Execution excellence—Business Alignment, Team Execution and People Performance—SuccessFactors Business Execution Software delivers real business impact. It provides the foundation for organizational success by giving you the tools to put the right people in the right place to work on the right things.
Both SmartRecruiters and SuccessFactors are essentially cloud-based HR tools designed to make the recruitment process smoother, which is fortunate because most recruitment processes tend to be clunky and fraught with confusion. Both allow you to track applicants, manage workflows and report on your hiring performance, all while looking like the future of recruitment. They even offer integrations with other systems, just in case you need to squeeze a few more tools into your already overstuffed HR toolbox.

Now, SmartRecruiters is a bit like the enthusiastic, slightly hyperactive younger sibling in this family. It’s all about making recruitment easy and fast, especially for small to mid-sized businesses. Launched in 2010, it's all about candidate experience, possibly to the point where candidates might feel like they’re being overly pampered. It’s based in San Francisco, where it seems to have absorbed an abundance of start-up energy, and, in a delightful twist, it offers a marketplace where other recruitment tools can jump in and make themselves useful.

On the other hand, SuccessFactors, which has been around since 2001, is more like a well-oiled, no-nonsense enterprise machine designed to meet the needs of large corporations with complex HR systems. Acquired by SAP in 2012, it comes complete with a suite of HR tools that go well beyond recruitment, offering everything from performance management to compensation tracking, as if recruitment were just the first part of an epic HR journey. It’s headquartered in South San Francisco, right next to SAP’s ERP system, ensuring that if you need enterprise-level integration, you've come to the right place.
