TightVNC
TightVNC is a free remote control software package. With TightVNC, you can see the desktop of a remote machine and control it with your local mouse and keyboard, just like you would do it sitting in the front of that computer.

RustDesk and TightVNC are both open-source remote desktop access and live support tools that can work in local network and over the Internet. They support multiple operating systems and enable file transfer.

But RustDesk (released in 2020) is a Chinese program, designed primarily for remote desktop access with focus on ease of use. It uses P2P architecture for direct connections between devices. RustDesk features more modern and user-friendly interface.

Older TightVNC (2004) is more secure and often used in enterprise environment. It relies on client-server architecture (that needs to be installed). It has more traditional interface and more connection options.
