SimpleMind is the world leader in cross platform Mind Mapping tools. Analyze your thoughts and structure them with SimpleMind. The unique free lay-out allows you to organize your ideas exactly how you want it.
MindJet MindManager and SimpleMind are both mind mapping tools, which is a fancy way of saying they let you take the jumbled mess of thoughts in your head and arrange them in neat little bubbles. They work across multiple devices, allow you to share your grand ideas in various formats and sync to the cloud so your thoughts can float around in digital limbo until you need them. Whether you’re mapping out the next great novel, a business strategy or just trying to remember why you walked into the kitchen, both do the job admirably.
MindManager, however, takes itself very seriously. Born in 1994 in the USA, it has grown into a sophisticated, corporate-minded piece of software that enjoys mingling with Microsoft Office and SharePoint at high-end business gatherings. It likes Gantt charts, workflow automation and the sort of structured planning that makes spreadsheets weep with joy. Naturally, all this functionality comes at a price and MindManager is quite sure that if you have to ask how much, you might not be its intended audience.
SimpleMind, on the other hand, was created in 2006 by a team in the Netherlands and prefers a more casual approach. It doesn't demand a corner office and a corporate credit card; it’s perfectly happy helping students, teachers and anyone with a vague idea they’d like to arrange in a visually pleasing way. It won’t integrate deeply into your enterprise ecosystem, nor will it generate complex project timelines, but it also won’t demand a second mortgage. It’s simple, effective, and—should you forget why you opened the app in the first place—it won’t judge you.
