They allow people to send messages, share files and conduct meetings without having to actually meet, which is particularly useful for those who prefer their colleagues in small, pixelated windows rather than in full, looming reality. Both platforms integrate with other tools, making them feel like they are part of something much bigger—though most users just hope they can find the mute button before their cat starts singing the song of its people.
