SOTI
SOTI MobiControl makes Enterprise Mobility Management (EMM) easier than ever before. It empowers companies to securely manage any device or endpoint with any form-factor and any operating system throughout their entire lifecycle; from deployment to retirement. It controls all aspects of business mobility, from tracking physical assets to managing applications and content, all while keeping devices and data safe and secure.

Microsoft Endpoint Manager and SOTI are, in many ways, two sides of the same intergalactic coin, except one of them is backed by a trillion-dollar software empire and the other specializes in making sure your barcode scanner doesn’t have an existential crisis halfway through inventory. Both will happily manage your devices, push out policies and ensure that your corporate overlords know precisely what you’re doing with that company-issued phone. They whisper sweet nothings to Windows, Android and iOS, promising security, compliance and the kind of remote control that would make a paranoid AI nod approvingly. They even handle zero-touch provisioning, which sounds magical but mostly just means your new laptop sets itself up without you having to actually touch it—unless it decides not to, in which case, good luck.

Microsoft Endpoint Manager is the newer kid on the block, arriving in 2019 like an overenthusiastic intern who insists it has always been here because, technically, it’s just a fancier combination of Microsoft Intune and SCCM. It’s cloud-first, cloud-last and deeply intertwined with Azure, which is great if you love Microsoft and slightly less great if you don’t. It does Windows management better than your IT department ever wanted to, translating old-school Group Policies into shiny new cloud policies that sound impressive in PowerPoint presentations. MEM is, naturally, from the United States, because of course, it is—after all, nothing says "enterprise security" like an American megacorporation with a direct line to your desktop.

SOTI, on the other hand, has been around since 1995, making it old enough to have watched the entire evolution of mobile devices from clunky bricks to sleek surveillance machines. Hailing from Canada, it has a distinctly rugged, practical approach to device management, specializing in keeping things running in warehouses, hospitals and anywhere else a broken tablet might trigger an operational meltdown. It plays especially well with Android, even diving into obscure OEM-specific settings that other UEMs would rather pretend don’t exist. Unlike its Microsoft counterpart, SOTI still believes in the power of the offline world, offering on-premises deployment for those moments when the internet inevitably decides to take a nap just when you need it most.
