We make machine data accessible, usable and valuable to everyone—no matter where it comes from. You see servers and devices, apps and logs, traffic and clouds. We see data—everywhere. Splunk offers the leading platform for Operational Intelligence. It enables the curious to look closely at what others ignore—machine data—and find what others never see: insights that can help make your company more productive, profitable, competitive and secure.

Grafana and Splunk are both IT monitoring and data visualization platforms that can handle log management and analysis and enable real-time data processing and alerting. They provide dashboards for visualizing metrics and are often used in DevOps and ITOps.
But Grafana (available since 2014) is Norway based open-source system, with paid enterprise options. It's primarily focused on visualizing data flows and is better suited for cloud environments. It's also more lightweight and easier to deploy than Splunk.
Splunk (2003) is commercial software (but also provides free tier). It specializes on log analyses, security event management (SIEM) and provides more advanced analytics. It's more suitable for on-premise enterprise environments.
