Morpheus
Morpheus is a leading cloud application management and orchestration platform designed from the ground up for truly agnostic cloud management. Morpheus gives developers, IT managers, and DevOps professionals full control over both VM and container-based systems across any cloud or infrastructure. 100% agnostic multi cloud management for Hybrid IT. Enable self-service provisioning and DevOps automation for VMware, Kubernetes, OpenStack, AWS, Azure, and more.

Flexera and Morpheus are, at first glance, two remarkably similar beasts, both wrangling the unruly chaos of multi-cloud environments with the kind of grim determination usually reserved for cat herding or intergalactic diplomacy. They both let enterprises peek under the cosmic hood of their hybrid IT, optimizing costs, automating tedious tasks and generally making sure that one’s cloud bill doesn’t inexplicably resemble the GDP of a small nation. Governance, orchestration and an eerie ability to make cloud platforms behave—these are the tools of their trade. They are, in essence, the interstellar navigators of the IT universe, ensuring nobody accidentally hyperspaces into a black hole of inefficiency.

Flexera, however, has been at this sort of thing since 1987, back when software licenses were more about boxes and floppy disks than ephemeral cloud instances. Based in the U.S., it has a particularly sharp eye for software asset management, making sure companies don’t accidentally own fourteen thousand copies of something they only needed five of. Large enterprises love it for its no-nonsense approach to compliance and financial optimization—because nothing says “enterprise” quite like a finely-tuned spreadsheet keeping track of every single cent with the enthusiasm of a tax auditor on a sugar rush.

Morpheus, on the other hand, is the fresh-faced upstart, hailing from the UK and stepping onto the scene in 2015, when DevOps was already a word and not just a typo. While Flexera concerns itself with meticulous financial wizardry, Morpheus throws itself enthusiastically into infrastructure automation, self-service provisioning and making sure IT teams don’t spend their entire existence manually deploying applications. It’s particularly beloved by those modernizing legacy systems, giving old, creaky applications a second chance at relevance—like a rejuvenation clinic for aging mainframes, but with fewer cucumber slices and more YAML.
