Check Point
Check Point offers, for the first time, an all-inclusive security management architecture delivered from the Cloud designed to manage security across on-premise Firewalls, Networks, Cloud, Mobile and IoT.

CrowdStrike
CrowdStrike's cloud-native endpoint security platform combines Next-Gen Av, EDR, Threat Intelligence, Threat Hunting, and much more.
Check Point and CrowdStrike both claim to protect your digital existence from the endless horrors lurking in cyberspace. They promise AI-powered, zero-trust, machine-learning, cyber-defense wizardry that will stop bad things before they happen. In essence, they both try to outwit cybercriminals who, much like Vogons, are highly unpleasant and unlikely to stop just because someone asks them nicely. They do it in the cloud, on endpoints and wherever else people decide to store their terribly important data, all while making it sound very sophisticated.

Check Point has been around since 1993, making it one of the grizzled veterans of cybersecurity, originating from Israel, a place well-known for taking security rather seriously. It started with firewalls, those trusty medieval castles of the internet and then expanded into all sorts of security layers like cloud, mobile and network protection. Large enterprises and government agencies love Check Point because it provides lots of buttons to press and settings to tweak, perfect for organizations that believe security should come with a certain level of bureaucratic complexity. Unlike some of the more modern, cloud-first upstarts, Check Point still appreciates the warm, comforting presence of on-premises hardware, even if it sometimes has to grudgingly acknowledge that the cloud exists.

CrowdStrike, on the other hand, emerged in 2011 in the USA, presumably after someone realized that computers were being hacked so frequently that a purely cloud-based security solution was needed before the whole internet collapsed under the weight of its own vulnerabilities. Its Falcon platform runs entirely in the cloud, no on-premises tinkering required, making it a favorite among companies that prefer security to be sleek, AI-driven and almost disturbingly fast. Unlike Check Point, which enjoys the finer details of network security, CrowdStrike focuses on hunting threats before they even know they’re threats, a bit like a cyber Sherlock Holmes with a really big magnifying glass. If Check Point is the wise old wizard of cybersecurity, CrowdStrike is the hyperactive detective with an AI-powered deerstalker hat.
