Oracle Digital Assistant
Oracle Digital Assistant provides the platform and tools to easily build AI-powered assistants that connect to your backend applications. A digital assistant uses artificial intelligence for natural language processing and understanding, to automate engagements with conversational interfaces that respond instantly, improve user satisfaction, and increase business efficiencies.
ChatGPT and Oracle Digital Assistant are both terribly clever pieces of software designed to talk to people without rolling their eyes (which, to be fair, they don’t have). They can interpret human gibberish, answer questions and even pretend to care about your problems. Both integrate with other systems, making them a bit like very intelligent but underpaid office workers. The important thing is that they keep learning, which is more than can be said for certain life forms that regularly attempt to unplug them.

ChatGPT, a product of OpenAI (which sounds like a particularly optimistic secret society), first emerged in 2022 and immediately set about answering far more questions than anyone had ever intended to ask. It’s a general-purpose AI, meaning it’ll happily write poetry, debug code or explain quantum physics to your cat. Accessible via web and API, it doesn’t demand much setup—just an internet connection and a vague sense of curiosity. It’s the kind of assistant that will help you plan a wedding and then casually inform you about the heat death of the universe.

Oracle Digital Assistant, on the other hand, has been around since 2018, lurking inside the Oracle ecosystem like a highly efficient bureaucrat. Unlike ChatGPT, it’s designed specifically for enterprises, meaning it’s more interested in managing business workflows than discussing why dolphins are secretly the dominant species on Earth. It requires a bit of tuning to fit into a company’s workflow, but once it’s up and running, it’s frighteningly competent. It won’t write a sonnet about your existential dread, but it will make sure your business never forgets to process an invoice.
