Her skills system makes her endlessly customizable, provided you don’t mind teaching her a new trick or two and she’s on a first-name basis with nearly every device you could plug into a socket. She’s less a voice assistant and more an overly helpful flatmate who rearranges your life while you’re not looking.
Siri, on the other hand, first graced us with her presence in 2011, descending from Norway like a Norse goddess of productivity. She’s exclusively devoted to Apple, her true love and spends her days deftly managing texts, emails and calendar events as if she were born for it—which, in a way, she was. Unlike Alexa, she doesn’t mingle much with outsiders, preferring the cozy confines of Apple’s ecosystem. She’s also more discreet, whispering secrets only to your device, rather than broadcasting them to the cloud for everyone to overhear.
